1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Alumni Membership Programme to the Tan Sri Dr Abdullah Sanusi Digital Library (hereinafter referred to as the “Library”). Before registering, please read the following terms and conditions carefully. By registering, you acknowledge that you have read these terms and agree to abide by them.

 

  1. ELIGIBILITY

You must have graduated from Open University Malaysia to be eligible for an alumni library membership. Membership is offered only to individual alumni. Corporate, group, or business memberships are not available.

 

  1. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION AND FEES
    • Every alumnus must submit a completed membership application form along with an annual fee of RM200. Membership is valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance. A renewal notification will be sent by email one month before the membership expires.
    • Membership fees are not refundable.

 

  1. ACCESS AND FACILITIES
    • During active membership, the member will have unlimited access to the following databases: –
      1. Ebooks Database: Ebook Collection (EbscoHost)
      2. Ejournals Database: Academic Search Ultimate
      3. Open-Access Database: Multi-Disciplinary Database
    • Member access to electronic resources is restricted, and login details must not be shared with other individuals or entities.
    • Library membership grants members non-transferrable authorisation to download, save, and print limited portions of content.
    • Members are not eligible for borrowing privileges, inter-library loans, document delivery services, or services other than those mentioned in paragraph 4.1.

 

  1. VALIDATION AND TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

 Membership will be terminated under the following circumstances: –

      • Members fail to renew their membership when it expires, and cannot be contacted. In such cases, the membership will be automatically terminated after two (2) weeks of absence of response from the members.
      • Members who voluntarily terminate or cancel their membership.
      • Immediate termination if due to any violation of Library policies.

 

  1. OTHERS
    • Members are expected to comply with the Library’s code of conduct and policies when utilising the facility.
    • All terms and conditions explicitly conveyed via the database provider shall be observed where relevant to alumni users. Licence violations traced back to specific users may result in the suspension of individual accounts.
    • Any content, materials, or information downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the resources is done at each member’s discretion.
    • The Library makes no guarantee that: –
      1. content will meet your requirement.
      2. the databases will be available on an uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free basis.
      3. information obtained from the resources will be accurate.
    • The Library reserves the right to make changes or updates to the service and/or to these terms at any time.
