Handshakes is pleased to launch our 2026 Internship Programme, designed to provide students with valuable hands-on experience in cybersecurity and security operations.

As a Security Operations Intern, you will gain exposure to real-world security challenges while working alongside experienced security professionals. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical skills in monitoring systems, responding to security incidents, and strengthening organisational security practices.

We are looking for students who are curious about how systems are protected, interested in cybersecurity operations, and eager to learn in a fast-paced technical environment.

What You Will Do

• Monitor and investigate security events and alerts across the organisation’s infrastructure.
• Assist in incident response activities and contribute to post-incident reviews and improvements.
• Support vulnerability assessments and participate in security audits of live environments.
• Gain hands-on experience with cloud security tools and monitoring systems.

Requirements

We would like to hear from you if you are:

• Currently pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Familiar with networking fundamentals and operating systems. Advanced expertise is not required, but a foundational understanding is expected.
• Methodical, curious, and able to remain calm and analytical when troubleshooting technical issues.
