Data Operations Intern
An internship designed to support learning, professional growth, and potential conversion to a full-time role.
This program is ideal for students or early-career individuals who are interested in financial markets, data analysis, and operational processes. Interns will gain hands-on experience working with real-world datasets, workflow processes, and cross-functional teams, building a strong foundation for a future career in Data Operations.
What You Will Learn and Do
1. Data Extraction & Analysis (Training and Practical Experience)
- Learn to analyse corporate announcements, annual reports, IPO prospectuses, stock exchange filings, and other public sources.
- Assist in extracting and validating relationships between individuals and companies.
- Review documents and articles to identify and categorise key information.
- Support background checks and screenings using internal and external databases.
- Review AI-generated predictions for consistency and accuracy.
- Gain exposure to how machine learning models support operational workflows.
2. Process Optimisation & Automation (Exposure and Participation)
- Observe and identify repetitive manual processes under guidance.
- Contribute ideas to improve internal tools and operational workflows.
- Participate in testing new automation features and provide feedback.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Product, Engineering, and Data Analytics teams on data-driven projects.
- Assist in preparing documentation, workflow guides, and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Participate in team discussions and learn how different functions collaborate within a data organisation.
4. Reporting & Custom Requests
- Support the preparation of basic reports and data summaries.
- Learn how to extract insights from internal databases and external sources.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Data, or related fields (an advantage but not required).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with corporate structures or company disclosures is a plus (training will be provided).
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Python is an added advantage.
- Ability to read or write Mandarin is beneficial but not required.
